English Language Support Sessions

This is an offer that is open to all employees at WU (non-native English speakers) wishing to receive individual English language support for various everyday matters. During these individual language appointments, you will have an English language specialist who will provide focused language feedback and support on a wide range of issues.

Content

Areas of support include the following:

  • Understanding complex correspondence or texts
  • Help in producing short texts in English
  • Feedback on your own English pronunciation
  • Going through a pitch or a short presentation together
  • Feedback on English course materials
  • etc.

Location, Date and Time

In Summer Semester 2021, these individual language support sessions can be scheduled for Tuesday mornings, starting on 9 March 2021, between 11 and 12 o'clock in person (in Room D2.3.250) or virtually via MS Teams or Zoom. The exact times and dates can be found on Doodle.

At the moment the English Language Support Sessions will be held online. Due to the corona situation, it is currently difficult to predict how the general conditions will develop in the summer semester. You can find the currently valid general conditions, which we update on a regular basis, here. All those, who have already registered, will also be informed directly by the consultant, if there are changes.

Fees and Registration

You can sign up for one (or more) 20-minute time slot(s) via Doodle. These appointments are private, confidential and for free. To schedule an appointment, simply click on this Doodle link. When registering, please indicate whether you would prefer to meet in person or virtually via MS Teams or Zoom in the comments field in Doodle. Bookings can also be made at short notice.

In order to keep the format open and spontaneous, the PEP department waives the usual standard deductible and cancellation fees. Nevertheless, if you are unable to attend on the date you have chosen, please ensure that you cancel your registration by yourself via Doodle.

For any further information please contact Nina Rath ( Nina.Rath@wu.ac.at, Ext. 6173).
