„Publishing in International Top Journals”

 


 

 

Three WU Researchers-of-the-Month, Isabella Grabner, Tina Wakolbinger and Jan Mendling, will share insider stories and anecdotes about successful publication in international Top Journals uniquely for you.

We will arrange this conversation as an Expert-Panel giving you plenty of room for interesting discourses and practical questions. Bring your own experiences to the table, have a snack and return to your desk filled with new knowledge, helpful publication tips and some new and interesting observations.

 

 

 

Target Group 

 

Scientists of the WU who publish (or would like to) in top international journals and look for useful tips from three of our Researchers-of-the-Month.

Please note that you should notify us before the registration deadline if you are unable to attend the wwebinar. Otherwise the full fee will be charged. Please let the Personnel Development and Planning Office know if you will not be attending. There are often waiting lists for the workshops, and this will give one of your colleagues the chance to attend. In addition, if we can fill the vacancy with someone from the waiting list, no cancellation charges will apply for you.

Univ.Prof. Dr. Isabella Grabner

 

  • Isabella Grabner is Professor of Strategy and Managerial Accounting at the Department for Strategy and Innovation.
  • Her research focuses mainly on the design of performance management and incentive systems, and the part they play in the successful management of creativity and innovation, as well as the attraction, development and retention of talent.
  • She has received numerous awards for her research, including the 2016 Best Early Career Researcher in Management Accounting Award (presented by the American Accounting Association), the 2014 Maastricht University Excellent Young Scholar Award, and the Management Accounting Section Midyear Meeting Outstanding Paper Award.
  • Her work has been published in internationally renowned journals, including the Journal of Accounting Research, the Accounting Review, and Accounting, Organizations and Society.

Univ.Prof. Tina Wakolbinger, Ph.D

 

  • Tina Wakolbinger is Professor of Supply Chain Services and Networks and deputy head of the Institute for Transport and Logistics Management. She is also head of the WU’s Research Institute for Supply Chain Management
  • Her research focuses mainly on sustainable and digital supply chain management and humanitarian logistics.
  • She has published successfully in internationally respected journals, including the European Journal of Operational Research, Decision Sciences, and the International Journal of Production Economics. Her outstanding work has earned her numerous awards, including the Best Paper Award from the Fogelman College of Business and Economics and the Graduate School Fellowship Award for Outstanding Doctoral Students from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
  • She is also on the editorial boards of the journals Production and Operations Management, International Transactions in Operational Research, and the Central European Journal of Operations Research. She has been the head researcher on projects funded by the FWF Austrian Science Fund and the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG).

Univ.Prof. Dipl.-Wirt.Inform.Dr. Jan Mendling

 

  • Full Professor with the Institute for Information Business
    Researching into business process management and information systems.
  • Co-author of the textbooks "Fundamentals of Business Process Management" and "Wirtschaftsinformatik"
  • Published more than 400 research papers and articles, among others in ACM Transactions on Software Engineering and Methodology, IEEE Transaction on Software Engineering, Information Systems, Journal of the AIS, European Journal of Information Systems, and Decision Support Systems.
  • Member of the editorial board of several international journals.
    Member of the board of the Austrian Society for Process Management ( http://prozesse.at) and one of the founders of the Berlin BPM Community of Practice ( http://www.bpmb.de)
  • Winner of the Heinz-Zemanek-Award of the Austrian Computer Society and the German Targion-Award.
