Appointment Training for Prospective Professors
In this workshop, we focus on the skills needed to successfully apply for professorships in Europe, the U.S. and Canada. Advice is given on how to prepare for the assessment procedure, such as giving a strategically planned scientific talk and being interviewed by the selection committee. You are given the possibility to present yourself and practice for the job-interview in a video training session. Feedback will address strategic career development and point out your communicative strengths and approaches to further professionalization.

Methods
Theoretical input, discussion, video training, feedback, handouts.
In this workshop video training (video recording and video analysis) will be used as a method. By registering for this workshop, you agree to the use of recordings of yourself for this purpose.

All registered participants will be informed of the location by email one week before the event.
Fees and Registration
This workshop is open to a limited number of participants. The registration deadline is 7 January 2020.
Please note that you should notify us before the registration deadline if you are unable to attend the workshop. Otherwise the full fee will be charged. Please let the Personnel Development and Planning Office know if you will not be attending. There are often waiting lists for the workshops, and this will give one of your colleagues the chance to attend. In addition, if we can fill the vacancy with someone from the waiting list, no cancellation charges will apply for you.
